About

Welcome to Deal With Diabetes. We’re the Deal With Diabetes Team—people living with diabetes who are passionate about making the learning curve easier for others.

We know what it’s like to stare at lab results, get conflicting advice online, and wonder what actually matters day to day. This site exists to turn the overwhelm into a plan: clear explanations, practical steps, and safer discussions around supplements—without hype or fear.

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to help people with diabetes and prediabetes feel more confident and less alone—by sharing patient-to-patient education that’s practical, evidence-informed, and focused on real life.

WHAT WE DO HERE

  • Explain the basics (A1C, fasting glucose, insulin resistance, CGMs, etc.) in plain English
  • Break down supplements people commonly consider for blood sugar support—what evidence suggests, what’s uncertain, and what questions to ask
  • Talk safety: common side effects, red flags, and medication interaction considerations to discuss with your clinician
  • Share practical habits (food, movement, sleep, stress) that can support metabolic health
  • Recommend tools that may make daily life easier (meters, kitchen tools, tracking aids)

WHAT WE DON’T DO
We’re not doctors, and we don’t provide personal medical advice, diagnose conditions, or tell you to start/stop medication. We share educational information and lived experience—then encourage you to bring questions to your healthcare team so you can make decisions that fit your situation.

HOW WE CREATE CONTENT (OUR STANDARDS)

  • Evidence-informed: When we discuss research, we aim to use reputable sources (peer-reviewed studies, clinical guidelines, and trusted medical organizations).
  • No miracle claims: If something sounds too good to be true, we slow down and look for real-world evidence and safety considerations.
  • Transparency: We’ll say when evidence is limited or mixed.
  • Updates: We periodically review older posts and refresh them as guidance changes.

HOW WE MAKE MONEY
Some pages include affiliate links. If you choose to buy through one of our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate income helps keep the site running.

Important: Affiliate links do not decide what we cover or what we recommend. When we mention a product, it’s because it’s relevant to the topic and we believe it may be worth considering—always with a “check with your clinician” mindset.
